Experience Culture and Nature in Romania
1. Day
Arrival in Bucharest. English speaking tour guide takeover.
Drive: Towards Brasov/Kronstadt
Visiting the Peles Castle, which was Carol the I. summer residence at the end of the 19th cent. And the Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)
Arrival in Brasov/Kronstadt
Dinner at a Romanian restaurant
2. Day
Walking tour: From the touristic city Busteni there lead a lot of hiking trails in the Bucegi Mountains, which highest peak reaches 2.500 m. We view the Sphinx, rock formations and the mushroom –likely Babele and then we hike further to the Caraiman-Gipfel (2.325 m), its 40 m cross on the summit of the mountain.
In the afternoon: City-tour in Brasov we view The Old City Hall, medieval Hirscherhaus and visit the Black Church.
3. Day
Drive to Balea Waterfall in the Fagaras-Mountains und drive on the Transfagarasan-Road to the Balea Lake (2034 m), Romanias’ biggest glacial lake. One day hike through the Balea nature reserve, where chamois and marmots may be seen.
Dinner in Sibiu/Hermannstadt
4. Day
We drive to Cisnadie/Heltau and Cisnadioara/Michelsberg to learn more about Saxon customs. Cisnadie, a Saxon commune was the first time mentioned in a document in 1323.
After learning something about Saxon customs, we will learn also about Romanian customs.
We offer a walk through the biggest Open Air Museum Astra of Middle East Europe. Here can be experienced customs, folklore and traditional costumes, but also Romanian architecture. The 1000 ha area is a wonderful parc with a centrally located lake and small brooks which propel some of the old rustic mills.
5. Day
